In accordance with the Decision of the Council of Ministers, published in the Official Gazzette dated May 5, 2007; the prefix “Yeni” used in the currency unit of Republic of Turkey, will be removed from “Yeni Türk Lirası” (TRY banknotes). As of 01.01.2009 the currency unit will be “Türk Lirası”.
